Bob Levy is a seasoned marketing and direct response specialist with over 30 years of experience in B2C and B2B clients in Chicagoland and beyond. He opened Ardent Communications in 1992, combining his sales, marketing, and print management background to create a business prioritizing client satisfaction.
Bob graduated from the University of Iowa and initially worked for a Fortune 500 company, where he quickly advanced to managing a product line with full P&L responsibility. An interest in legal studies led Bob to enroll in law school at DePaul University. He sought a steady 9-to-5 job that would balance with his evening classes and answered an ad for a direct marketing company.
Rather than taking a sales role, Bob chose a customer service position, where he gained invaluable experience in database management, complex personalized communications, mailing list rental, and fulfillment. This foundational knowledge proved instrumental when he transitioned to a sales position, quickly becoming the company’s top producer.
After his success in direct marketing, Bob worked for a high-quality commercial printer, followed by a role with a print manager. In these positions, he expanded his expertise beyond what any single manufacturer could offer, incorporating creative services into his skill set.
Decades later, Bob continues doing business with his first client in the industry. His business philosophy emphasizes taking care of the client in a way that nurtures the relationship for the long run. This approach has resulted in multi-year collaborations and hundreds of instances of client success.
